An Internet Guide to Legal Research

This page lists several excellent law and law-related research sites that are available on the Internet. The sites offer great variety and are easy to locate.

Two notes of caution:
  1. Do not confuse pulling material off the Web with "real" research. Research is what you extract and find from the materials you have located. Cutting and pasting material without understanding its significance and how it supports your research inquiry is not research.

  2. There is no substitute for actually reading – several times, if necessary – the case(s) you are trying to learn more about. Technology is a great asset in the learning process but cannot do the hard thinking for you.
