Selecting Student Samples
Recall that one of the examples we used early in the chapter involved sampling college or university students who had taken an American Government course in high school.
- Describe how you would select a simple random sample of 400 students at your college or university. Be sure to describe your population and sampling frame.
- Describe how you would select a similar sample of 400 students using systematic sampling.
- Assume for a moment that no comprehensive list of students is available, but you are primarily interested in generalizing about students who reside on campus. Describe how you would design a multistage cluster sample to obtain a sample of 400 students.
