Activity 4.3Building a Bibliography
In this activity you will build a twelve-entry bibliography for a research project on democracy. The homework consists of two parts: (1) a bibliography that has as its title the research question you wish to answer and (2) evidence that you have explored the resources offered by the library and the Internet.
Part One: Your Bibliography- Your bibliography should include the following.
- A citation from a specialized dictionary
- A citation from a specialized encyclopedia
- Four articles from professional/scholarly journals
- At least two books
- At least two sources from the World Wide Web
- The bibliography should include references listed alphabetically by authors' last names, using the format of the American Political Science Review or one specified by your professor.
Part Two: Evidence of Use of the Library and Internet
- The citation of one of your articles exactly as it appears in the P.A.I.S. Index
- The citation of one of your articles exactly as it appears in the Social Sciences Index
- The first two sentences of the encyclopedia article included in your bibliography
- The first two sentences from your specialized dictionary definition
- The abstract and first paragraph of one of the articles cited in your bibliography
- A description of how you located one of your Internet sources
- The citation of a book review of one of the books used in your bibliography
