 | Technical Notes
This web site includes ACE Self-Tests for each lesson, additional links to obtain further information relating to the Notes culturelles (Units 3–11), an ACE Self-Test Video at the end of each unit (Units 2–11), and web search activities to accompany Vivre en France (Units 2–11).
Web Search Activities In each activity, you explore authentic French web sites as you search
for answers to questions about topics covered in the corresponding Unit.
You can answer the questions on-screen and e-mail the answers to your instructor
or you can print out the answers and submit them.
Note: When you click on any link to a web site to begin a search
activity, a small browser window containing the French web sites will
open.
Windows Users To return to the Contacts browser window so you can fill
in the activity answers, go to the task bar at the bottom of your screen
and click on the Contacts Web Site button. To return to the browser
window containing the French web sites, go to the task bar at the bottom
of your screen and click on the French Web Site button.
Mac Users You can position the French Web Site window next to the Contacts
web site window, and toggle between them as you complete the questions
in the web site window.
ACE Self-Tests ACE self-tests are provided on the Contacts Web Site for every
lesson of the textbook. The tests include multiple choice, true/false, and fill-in-the-blank questions. These tests will help you check
your understanding of the book's vocabulary and grammar sections.
Note: The ACE self-tests are self-correcting, which means that
you can check your answers yourself at any time. Scroll to the bottom
of the page and click on the Submit Quiz button. The Assessment
Page will appear so that you can review the answers to the questions you
have completed so far. To return to the test, click on your web browser's
Back button. Once you have completed the test, click on the Submit
Quiz button. The Assessment Page will appear and you can review your
results and receive your score. To receive your overall percentage, you
must answer all the questions.
