FAQ HMXChange BUSINESS CASE DATABASE

Can I create a "custom textbook" from the cases?

You can select and arrange cases to suit the needs of your course.

[top]

How can I combine materials from other sources with the cases?

Through HMCo's Custom Publishing group, you can work with a custom editor to create a customized version of the cases combined with other materials, including chapters from textbooks as well as cases and readings from a variety of sources. Consult an editor at http://college.hmco.com/instructors/ins_custompub_home.html to inquire about this option.

[top]

What if I want to add my own materials to my case textbook?

To add your own materials (e.g., a syllabus), you will need to have PDF files prepared for submission. Your original material will be added to the textbook as one chapter. If you do not have PDF files or cannot prepare them yourself, you can discuss other custom publishing options with your Houghton Mifflin Sales Representative.

[top]

How can I obtain a proof of the cases in the series?

Electronic proofs are available at any time as you build a casebook. Hardcopy proofs are not available.

[top]

How can I obtain a desk copy of a casebook once an order has been placed with my bookstore?

Upon placing an order for the first time, you may request up to 5 sample desk copies for orders of less than 250, up to 10 copies for orders of less than 500, and up to 15 copies for orders of 500 or more. You may request 5 desk copies for reprint orders.

[top]

How can I order a case textbook?

You can create a customized book directly on our Custom Publishing site: http://www.comcom.com/HMCO/. An ISBN and title code will be assigned once you submit your order. You must print out your confirmation/receipt page and give it to your bookstore. We will not begin printing your textbooks until after your bookstore places the order with HMCo Customer Service (800-225-1464).

[top]

How long will it take for my books to arrive?

It will take approximately 3-4 weeks from the time your bookstore places your order with HMCo Customer Service.

[top]

What will the final text look like?

The customized text will look professional in every way. Regardless of the cases you choose and the order in which you place them, the pages will be numbered sequentially, and the Table of Contents is automatically customized to the cases you choose.

[top]

What if I want to package my case textbook with another Houghton Mifflin textbook?

For order quantities of over 100, it is possible to package your case textbook with another HMCo textbook, with a 10% discount off of the Houghton Mifflin textbook. Contact a custom publishing editor at http://college.hmco.com/instructors/ins_custompub_home.html to inquire about this option.
