Fracture zones are very unusually geologic
features. They do
not have analogues
on the continents. The
characteristics describing them in the introduction clearly set them apart from other geologic features. This page contains an animated flyby of a fracture zone. As you view the
animation, try to identify the features characteristic of a fracture zone/transform fault. In particular, see if you
can identify where
the flyover crosses the ridge itself.
