Consider Campus Companion for Transfer Orientation Programs
Jennifer Hurd's new student guide is a great choice for an abbreviated orientation program for transfer students entering in the spring semester. These students are particularly vulnerable to loneliness and isolation. Coming to a new campus in mid-year is hard, so institutions should consider doing everything possible to help these transfer students feel welcome. Hurd's text provides structure to a program and would also provide consistency to a fall program that already uses this text. Even if the orientation program is shorter, the text can be a wonderful resource to students.
