National Association for Gifted Children
The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) is an
organization of parents, educators, other professionals and community
leaders who address the unique needs of children and youth with
demonstrated gifts and talents as well as those children who may be able
to develop their talent potential with appropriate educational
experiences. NAGC supports and develops policies and practices that
encourage and respond to the diverse expressions of gifts and talents in
children and youth from all cultures, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and
socioeconomic groups. To this end, NAGC supports and engages in research
and development, staff development, advocacy, communication, and
collaboration with other organizations and agencies that strive to
improve the quality of education for all students.
The Council for Exceptional Children
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest
international professional organization dedicated to improving
educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students
with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate
governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual
professional development, advocates for newly and historically
underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals
obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional
practice.
ERIC Clearinghouse on Disabilities and Gifted Education
ERIC is an acronym for the Educational Resources Information Center.
The ERIC Clearinghouse on Disabilities and Gifted Education (ERIC EC) is
one of 16 federally funded clearinghouses in the ERIC system, a
nationwide information network sponsored by the U.S. Department of
Education, Office of Educational Research and Improvement and
administered by the National Library of Education.
ERIC EC gathers and distributes the professional literature,
information, and resources on the education and development of
individuals of all ages who have disabilities and/or who are gifted.
National Information Center for Children and Youth with
Disabilities
NICHCY is the national information and referral center that provides
information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families,
educators, and other professionals. Their special focus is children and
youth (birth to age 22).
Federal Resource Center for Special Education
The FRC is a special education technical assistance project funded by
the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education and
Rehabilitative Services, and is part of the Regional Resource and
Federal Centers Network.
Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services
The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS)
supports programs that assist in educating children with special needs,
provides for the rehabilitation of youth and adults with disabilities,
and supports research to improve the lives of individuals with
disabilities.

National Attention Deficit Disorder Association
ADDA's mission is to help people with ADD lead happier, more
successful lives through education, research, and public advocacy.
Whether you have ADD yourself, or someone in your life does, ADDA is an
organization for you. ADDA is especially focused on the needs of ADDults
and young adults with ADD. Parents of children with ADD are also
