Introduction: Many organizations utilize organization-wide surveys to assess the needs and concerns of their employees. On the basis of results of such surveys, many organizations make significant organizational changes. This exercise will help you understand more about organizational surveys.
Internet Assignment: Your organization has a new CEO who has been brought in to make changes. Her first priority is to survey all employees to find out what employees think about the company, what they want from the company, and what their needs and concerns are. You have been assigned to find several organizational surveys that could be used by your company. Search the Internet for resources that might assist you in finding several different surveys and other related resources.
Follow-up: Describe the kinds of information you were able to locate and characterize its likely value to you. Finally, respond to the following questions:
- What additional information would you need, besides what was available on the Internet, to actually use one of the surveys you found?
- How would the type of survey you use be different if you were a large multinational company versus a small manufacturing company with employees at only one location?
