  1. Go to the website of the Goldman Sachs Group investment bank, www.gs.com, and find the section on careers. Within the careers section go to the business divisions section and then find the section that lists Goldman Sachss 14 business principles. What are Goldman Sachss key business principles? Write a one- to two-page paper analyzing the comments made by the companys CEO, Henry M. Paulson, in the introductory vignette of the chapter in the context of these company business principles. Specifically discuss the extent to which Mr. Paulsons comments jibe with the companys stated principles.

Go to the Kraft websites 2003 prior news release section and to its December 16, 2003 news release discussing management changes. What was so unique about Krafts former management structure? Write a one-page analysis of why you think this management structure failed. Also, discuss the types of organizations or situations where you think such a management structure might operate more successfully.

  3. The Coca-Cola Company is one of the worlds most well-known companies, with arguably the worlds most famous brand. Look up the companys website, www.coca-cola.com. Look for choices to find the companys beliefs and then the Coca-Cola promise, which is the companys mission statement stating why it exists. Write a one-page paper setting forth Coca-Cola Companys mission statement and analyzing (drawing on the plethora of other information on this website) whether you think the company is currently fulfilling its mission.
