INTRODUCTION

This application will introduce you to two internet links that address issues related to expatriate employment. The first internet link provides the full online text of a book which presents information to aid you in the decision making process of whether to accept and then prepare for an assignment in a foreign country. Most who travel to a foreign country on business do so for only a few days. Therefore, the second internet link poses a variety of questions to which you should seek answers to prepare for an international business trip. Human resource issues related to expatriate employment are discussed in Chapter 22 of French's Human Resource Management, 5th ed.
