The first internet link brings you to the home page of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). The NLRB is an independent federal agency that administers the National Labor Relations Act, the primary law governing relations between unions and employers in the private sector. The second internet link brings you to the home page of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organization (AFL-CIO). The AFL-CIO is the umbrella organization for more 73 national and international unions representing over 14 million workers in the U.S. Labor relations and collective bargaining are discussed in Chapter 15 of Fisher, Schoenfeldt, and Shaw's Human Resource Management, Fourth Edition.
