Chapter 10: Career Planning and Development

Many companies today are putting information about career opportunities on their Web sites. Identify several companies that you are interested in knowing more about. Visit enough Web sites from this list until you locate five that purport to have career information available. Review that information and assess its value to you as a prospective employee.

Questions

  1. Is the information provided on the Web sites you visited really relevant to careers, or does it simply summarize job opportunities?
  2. Rank the five Web sites in order of best to worst as they relate to career information. What differences account for the rankings?
  3. Do you think the organizations have "different" career information available for people who already work for them? Why or why not?
