Projecting Revenues and Costs

Instructions: Visit three of the five annual reports listed below, or choose three others from the Annual Reports list included at this site. Locate the Letter to Stockholders and identify at least three initiatives or actions that you believe were part of the company's planning activities for the year that affected sales or costs. Also identify one initiative or action that the company is planning for the coming year that you would expect to affect revenues or expenses for the next year. A sample Letter to Stockholders is shown below.

Extended Research Activities
Search one of the Business Periodical Web Sites to find a recent article on one of the following topics:

  • Revenue planning
Write a short summary of the article. Be sure to identify the article's title, author(s), and publication date. Bring this information to class to share with your classmates.



2. Update the Sun Microsystems Letter to Stockholders' information for the current fiscal year (June 30, 2000 or later).
