In addition, find the current market price for each of the three companies' stock using one of the investment sites listed below. Then calculate book value per share.

Extended Research Activities

1. Search one of the Business Periodical Web Sites to find a recent article about one of the following topics:
  • Treasury stock
  • Stock dividend
  • Stock split
  • Deferred income taxes
  • Extraordinary items
  • Discontinued operations
  • Accounting changes


2. Update the Sun Microsystems report information for the current fiscal year (June 30, 2001 or later). Compare book value per share, shares outstanding, and treasury stock with prior periods.
